The exhibition "Wandering Focus" presents two artists who each juggle with modular set pieces in their work. Martin Conrad uses his extensive compendium of drawings in his pictures, around which he composes his visual worlds. Bettina Lüdicke combines lines of bronze wire to create wide, permeable spaces and forms that constantly reassemble themselves. In this way, both artists create fragile but stable structures whose components are in an energetic balance. The sculptural lines in the space and the drawn lines in the pictorial space each create a dialogue within the work and with each other in the exhibition context of "Wandering Focus".

Martin Conrad
has built up his own cosmos of images over the years of his artistic career. The centrepiece is his graphic research card index of our everyday lives. He draws on this extensive compendium of drawings, which is constantly updated on a daily basis, for his pictorial compositions and masterfully juggles with the resulting constellations. He transfers his drawings into his pictures like a matrix using a transfer printing process. Like in a kaleidoscope, the things in his world view are constantly rearranged, always exciting, always surprising.

Bettina Lüdicke
processes industrial bronze and copper wire into corporeal yet transparent spatial sculptures. The millimetre-thin, linear material is used in the artistic process by Lüdicke winding it many times, crossing it and fixing the points that form into knots. This results in almost dematerialised spatial structures, which on the one hand create the most diverse forms of "lightness" and on the other hand enclose the space. Inside and outside are thus placed in relation to each other and intertwined. A sculptural space is formed in the viewer's imagination. Colour, light and shadow expand into a network in and around the object.
