The ROOT gallery was founded in April 2010 as a producer gallery in Berlin.

Berlin galleries. In 2014, Ute Wöllmann took over the space at Carmerstraße 11 on Savignyplatz and developed an exhibition concept based on crowdfunding for the first time with "Hot Sunday". From January 2015 to August 2022, the ROOT gallery resided at Hardenbergstraße 9 (front building, 2nd floor) in Berlin-Charlottenburg - diagonally opposite the University of the Arts (UdK). The Akademie für Malerei Berlin worked on the same floor, with which we still cooperate closely today.
In May 2022, the gallery moved one street away into shop premises at Schillerstraße 34, in the immediate neighbourhood of the Deutsche Oper.
