In the exhibition "Views through", the ROOT Gallery focusses on Sabine Kybarth's usual extremely precisely painted oil paintings on a very blurred world. The viewer's gaze is drawn through the trickling water of rain-soaked windscreens to abstractly distorted street scenes illuminated by red and green traffic lights. The view is only partially revealed by windscreen wipers. Or we see shadowy scenes behind opaque bathroom windows through all seasons and times of day, with the same branch as the picture's protagonist. All of these ambiguities and ambiguities are sharply observed and precisely painted. They show us the poetry of a dissolving reality behind the visible reality.

I cordially invite you to take a look at these fantastically painted worlds for yourself!

Sabine Kybarth was born in Chemnitz in 1957. She studied at the Akademie für Malerei Berlin from 2011 to 2018. She graduated in 2018 and was named a master student of Ute Wöllmann. She is represented as an artist by Galerie ROOT, which already showed her at art KARLSRUHE in 2018 and in 2019 & 2020 in a solo exhibition with sculptures by Hermann-Josef Runggaldier and since then in numerous group exhibitions. Sabine Kybarth lives and works in Bielefeld and Berlin.

Yours, Ute Wöllmann, Gallery Director
