The Carinthian artist and academy director Peter Kohl, who inspires art lovers throughout Europe with his paintings, and the artist Ute Wöllmann, academy director, master student of Baselitz, author and blogger, know each other from exhibitions and participation in trade fairs.
The idea for an exchange between their academies and their cooperation was born in joint discussions. Around 50 students study painting here and there. With Ilka Schneider's public graduation presentation on 27 September 2019 at 8 p.m., the Akademie für Malerei Berlin can boast a total of 93 graduates since its foundation in 2004.
More about Peter Pohl and his students Ute Wöllmann in your Blog article from 22.09.2019 .
The idea behind the exchange programme at the independent academies is that students get to know different approaches to art and painting. The academy in Klagenfurt, for example, has a philosophical focus, while the weekly painting discussions are at the heart of the programme at the Akademie für Malerei Berlin. Four students each receive a 14-day scholarship, which includes an exhibition in Klagenfurt and in Berlin, as well as participation in the academies' respective teaching programmes. A lecturer accompanies the scholarship holders and teaches on site as a guest lecturer.
In this context, Peter Kohl offers Academy for Painting Berlin the weekend course "Interruption as the essence of wholeness" to:
Saturday 5.10. + Sunday 6.10. from 10 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 5 pm
In May, the first scholarship holders of the Akademie für Malerei Berlin Wiebke Buch, Andrea Interschick, Bettina Rohrschneider and Ilka Schneider were in Klagenfurt and were able to present themselves in a large exhibition at the BV-Galerie in Klagenfurt, accompanied by Ute Wöllmann, who honoured the famous daughter of the city of Klagenfurt Ingeborg Bachmann with the workshop "Meine liebe Ingeborg".
The exhibition of the scholarship holders from Klagenfurt and academy director Peter Kohl will open on 27 September 2019 at 6 pm.
