Background

Aruna's work stems from her penchant for relationships. She observes, sees and recognises patterns everywhere: in foliage, in social situations, in coincidence. Her work is inspired by the
Exploration of relationships and proportions, and explores the relationship between order and chaos; the dynamic between the two. It captures the interaction of order and chaos,
by playing with symmetry and asymmetry. This is based on the idea that people discover patterns everywhere, which they use to bring order to the chaos surrounding them, in other words to give meaning to the chaos, so to speak. This creates a narrative in every observation by the viewer, which is always subjective.

She explores geometric shapes, lines, spaces and fields. The earthy, muted colours give her work a sense of calm and balance, while the occasional use of bright neon colours creates an element of vibrancy and energy.
