Insight into the work

In her artistic work, Anja Engelking dedicates herself intensively to the material – particularly latex, which has become the central element of her visual language.

The combination of very different materials creates unusual, exciting surfaces, enabling new visual experiences. Your works consistently move within the realm of abstraction, characterised by gestural structures and a distinct, poetic expressiveness.

More recently, handwritten words have been expanding the works with an additional layer of meaning and opening up new narrative dimensions.
