ROOT on the road - Invitation to the exhibition "Artists without shelter"

Dear friends of the ROOT Gallery,

with the seventh edition of our campaign ROOT on the road we are once again making an artistic statement in 2025 - this time against the progressive disappearance of affordable studio spaces in Berlin.

Under the motto "Artists without shelter" we went from the 14 to 18 July 2025 onto the street - with colours, brushes and the power of artistic expression.

What began with individual closures has now become a structural problem: more and more creative professionals are losing their workspaces - through displacement, sale or rising rents. But Without space to work, there is no artistic expression - no city of art, no cultural diversity.

Our answer: we make visible what often remains hidden. Together with artists and companions, we have painted in places where studios are under threat or have already been lost. in the open air, on siteand also directly in front of the Senate Department for Culture and in Weinbergspark.
