Dear friends of the ROOT Gallery,
I cordially invite you to the ROOT Gallery for an artist talk with Timo Kahlen on Thursday, 13 June at 7 pm.
The ROOT gallery is showing his "networks" in combination with pictures of concrete painting by Aruna Samivelu until 25 June.
Timo Kahlen actually works with ephemeral, changeable materials: with light and wind, with pixels and dust, with noise, vibration and sound. His intermediary works - often on pressing contemporary issues - have been presented at KUNST-WERKE Berlin (1991), at biennials such as MANIFESTA 7: Scenarios (2008), at ZKM Karlsruhe (2012), at Ruine der Künste Berlin (2023), where works by him are also currently on display alongside this exhibition, as well as in more than 250 exhibitions of contemporary media art. The source material for the cable sculptures shown here are discarded network, power, audio and data cables. Kahlen lives, teaches and works in Berlin.
You can also join the artist talk via ZOOM: To do this, either enter the following meeting ID on the ZOOM.US website: 818 5991 5436 and the following
