Ute Wöllmann is launching her new crowdfunding-based gallery concept at Carmerstraße 11 on Savignyplatz for the first time on 8 June 2014 with "Hot Sunday". She is taking over the premises of the former ROOT producers' gallery on Savignyplatz and opening her own owner-managed gallery, Galerie ROOT UG (haftungsbeschränkt), with her partner Reinhold F. Hartmann. Building on four years of experience with the ROOT producers' gallery on Savignyplatz and its successes, she is continuing the tradition of focussing exclusively on painting and cooperating with the Akademie für Malerei Berlin with the new ROOT gallery. The concept of staged dialogues between different artistic positions, from realistic to non-representational, will be expanded by thematic group exhibitions. The official gallery opening will be celebrated on 26 June 2014 from 20:00 - 24:00 with the vernissage of the first thematic group exhibition "Viriditas - Blühen und fruchten".

On "Hot Sunday" only, fans of the ROOT gallery and anyone who wants to become one will have the unique opportunity to purchase over 200 works of art at 50% of the normal gallery price from 12-24 hrs.

The above-mentioned artists will produce paintings in various formats, ranging from 7 x 7 cm to 120 x 160 cm, exclusively for this event. These works of art will regain their full market value one week after "Hot Sunday".

You can become a fan for as little as €8.50 a month. The commitment is open at the top and becomes really attractive for art lovers, collectors and committed buyers!

The fans support and accompany the gallery and its artists for two years by means of a fan contract. This entitles them to purchase art at 50% of the usual market value on "Hot Sunday". The fan contributions already count as a down payment for the art purchase.

Half of the fan contribution goes to the artists. The other half of the amount is used to finance the operation of this gallery at this attractive location for a further two years.

The ROOT gallery is the first gallery to realise its gallery idea via a crowdfunding project of this kind.

Dear sponsors and supporters of art, culture and our gallery idea: Become a fan!

Because: "I dare!" - and will be entering the art market in Berlin with this extraordinary concept from 8 June 2014.

I guarantee: it's worth coming along - because you can of course also become a fan on "Hot Sunday" itself! The artists will be present.

The artworks can be previewed at the press conference on 3 June 2014 from 11:00 in the ROOT gallery!

I look forward to your visit.

Ute Wöllmann
