EL EGO
The Epic Art series of works is about finding and working out the typical visual and formal languages of artists whose works are anchored in the collective memory. Lego is used to recreate style icons of the 20th and 21st centuries, including paintings, sculptures and installations. The joy of art is important to EL EGO, not the maintenance of a hermetic, elitist system. That is why Lego was very consciously chosen as a material that everyone knows.

Juliane von Arnim dedicates most of her work to nature in the form of
landscapes or views of plants. She traces the
The unusual in the familiar. Strange colour and light moods are the hallmark of her pictures. The light has become even stronger in the new pictures, they really seem to glow from within! With a fine sense of colour, Juliane von Arnim creates great tension in her pictures. The image details and lighting of the rural scenarios, deserted landscapes and places appear unusual, especially as her attention is focussed on special buildings and lonely farmsteads, which convey a peculiar atmosphere of tense tranquillity.
In her new paintings, large areas of colour are formed and decisively placed using a broad brush. The paintings walk a fine line between abstraction and reality.
