Both artists are concerned with movement in matter. Margit Bu\u00df stages the colour autonomously. Jo Kley drives the movement into the stone. Here a fluid, moving matter, there an immobile stone. \"Flying thoughts\" - capturing fleeting thoughts materially is the idea behind this exhibition.
\nMargit Bu\u00df<\/strong>born in L\u00fcneburg in 1951, has been painting since 1990 and studied painting at the Akademie f\u00fcr Malerei Berlin from 2009 to 2014 and is a master student of Ute W\u00f6llmann. She lives and works in Eckernf\u00f6rde and Berlin.
\nMargit Bu\u00df works processually with the independence and momentum of the colours. The intrinsic value of the colours is the focus of her painting. Through years of intensive study of the colour material, she has come to the conclusion that alcyd resin varnishes and acrylic varnishes are best suited to her painting. She has discovered how they react against and with each other. She utilises this knowledge. Every new experiment in the studio is noted down so that it can be called up when needed.
\nIn this way, she is able to repeat exactly what was once created by chance in order to make it appear as chance again in the painting. She initially lets the colour have its way and then lets it work for her. She is not interested in depicting a particular form or a particular motif.
\nThe texture and production method of a picture, the materiality of the colour substances, are the focus of her attention.
\nIt is about the material colour. She examines the material's own laws and assigns them an important role in the creation of amorphous forms and the design of colour surfaces.<\/p>\n

Jo Kley<\/strong>born in Ulm in 1964, studied sculpture at the Muthesius University of Art and Design in Kiel under Professor Jan Koblasa from 1991 to 1997 after training as a stonemason and stone sculptor in Ulm. Already during his studies, Kley exhibited in solo and group exhibitions. He has been working as a freelance sculptor since 1995. In 2012, he obtained a Doctor of Liberal Arts (DLA) from the Faculty of Music and Fine Arts at the University of P\u00e9cs, Hungary, under Prof Colin Foster.
\nNumerous works can be found in public spaces in Germany and abroad and are owned by companies, corporations, banks, museums and private collections. Jo Kley lives in Kiel and works in a disused gravel pit near Bordesholm.
\nThrough his participation in numerous national and international symposia and competitions, the receipt of many prizes and scholarships as well as more than 100 solo and group exhibitions in Germany and abroad, Jo Kley has gained worldwide recognition as a sculptor. More than 75 medium and large-format works can be found in public spaces in 19 countries.
\nSince 1998, he has been pursuing his art concept \"KleyCity\" with the idea of erecting a tower sculpture in as many countries around the world as possible in order to create a bond of international understanding.<\/p>\n
